ADC Joins Institute for Policy Studies for Congo in Focus Panel Discussion
ADC participated in Congo in Focus: A People’s Struggle for Their Land, Resources, Story, and Future, a panel organized by the Institute for Policy Studies, Friends of the Congo, and the Black Alliance for Peace. ADC joined fellow panelists to explore Congo’s ongoing struggle for land, resource sovereignty, and self-determination, while showcasing how its partner agribusiness, Asante Craft Cocoa, is putting these principles into practice by creating value-added products from African-sourced resources. ADC emphasized the importance of greater Congolese immigrant participation in policy engagement, challenging historical patterns of resource exploitation, advancing community-led solutions, and promoting economic empowerment that enables Congolese communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and around the world to exercise greater ownership and control over their resources, livelihoods, and economic futures.
