August 2026 Congo On Our Mind In Partnership with Sankofa Bookstore and Cafe

In partnership with Sankofa Bookstore and Cafe in Washington DC, ADC organized an evening of community conversation and cultural expression on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 to examine the historical and colonial structural forces that have destabilized Congo’s institutions and shaped its public health challenges, particularly in the context of the Ebola crisis. The distinguished panelists also explored where we can go from here by highlighting community-driven solutions and practical strategies for strengthening partnerships between the African diaspora, its allies, and locally led initiatives.
